William "Bill" Churchill Exhibit

A selection of carvings and other works created by Bill Churchill, loaned for display by his daughter, Nell Marie Churchill. Among the items displayed are a large model boat, a selection of paddles and totem poles, and a hide drum with a killer whale design.
The boat was constructed in 1966. Bill handmade his own tools and he taught classes on carving and the importance of making tools for carving. Bill carved throughout his adult life and continued his work until he passed away in 2021.

Riverboat Exhibit

Two models of riverboats that operated on the Stikine River. The riverboats' had their heyday in the early 20th century, but by the late 1960s had been out-competed by newly-developed highways and railroads.

Vans "Custom Culture" Contest Shoes

Two pairs of shoes designed by Wrangell High School students for a national contest sponsored by the Vans shoe company in 2022. The designs were selected by the award committee, and WHS received a prize grant of $15,000.
